The Ski House of the Day is Elks Crossing Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado:
From this massive Western log lodge, the stunning views of national forests and wilderness areas actually include herds of elk crossing the prairie!
You'll have to drive to get to the slopes of Breckenridge, but that drive looks like it will be well worthwhile when you can return to this house apres-ski! The mountain mansion is a 6-bedroom, 5-bathroom 8,000 sq.ft. absolutely beautiful Colorado ski lodge.
Step through the front door into the entry foyer and here's what you see:
...and just look at this gorgeous kitchen:
This house has a fantastic Bunk Room where the kids can pull the curtains across their beds to create their own individual private sleeping / reading nooks:
It took me a while to notice the skis and snowshoes on the dining room wall because the furniture is so captivating:
The Western decor throughout this home is simply beautiful!
Check out huge stone fireplace, antler chandelier, and the massive logs crossing the vaulted living room ceiling:
I love the sleigh table in front of the sofa, and the log mantle above the fireplace in the family room:
What a beautiful master bedroom with the vaulted ceiling, stone fireplace, and 4-post / log bed (...but I think I could do without those big eyes on the fireplace watching me fall asleep)...
This mountain mansion also has an exercise room, a 3-car garage, and a "snow melt system" on the walkways and driveway...wow, that sounds nice!
I think this house is stunning! And imagine....a herd of elk just outside the window!
